Planting Par-tay Recap

7/1/2015

In May, we had our first planting par-tay...it was a success!  Here's what we accomplished in three days:
  • Grafted 50 rootstock (aka baby trees) and planted them in the nursery.
  • Dug 60 holes.
  • Planted 48 2-year old apple trees in the orchard.
  • Planted over 40 raspberry transplants and 20 asparagus crowns (these will help create a natural fence-line to repel deer).
  • Planted over 100 strawberry plants in the front garden.
  • Processed a huge pile of wood into woodchips (this helps provide nutrients to tree roots).

Thank you to the following for coming to help, generously donating plants, and checking out what we've got going on:
  • Nancy Pierce
  • Michael Cunning & Elizabeth Wolfe
  • Mike Anderson
  • Max Langdon
  • Candie Connerney
  • Andy Watson
  • Kristen Ellis
  • Kasey Rossignol
  • Mike Anderson
  • Brie Plummer
  • Jarid York
  • Ceci Coldwell
  • Nicole Hill
  • Karyn Hood & the Cornbreads
  • Jan and Brent Hill
  • Robin Randall-Milliken

We feel extremely blessed to have supportive family and friends in our lives.  We look forward to next year's planting par-tay!
